Marking spray for marking work in the construction sector - S MARK

Marking spray for marking work in the construction sector
S MARK is an acrylic-based marking spray manufactured with mineral and organic pigments without heavy metals. The color pigments and fluorescent pigments without heavy metals, the acrylic solvent, and a propellant mixture of propane and isobutane ensure a marking spray for construction sites that minimizes environmental impact but still offers high visibility and durability on various surfaces.
Areas of application for S MARK
S MARK is the ideal marking spray for use wherever markings need to be durable and highly visible over the long term. Examples of applications for the marking spray include road construction and pipeline construction. In construction projects of all kinds, S Mark is used to mark electrical installations or underground supply lines.
S Mark is suitable for applying durable markings even on difficult surfaces such as gravel paths, wooden walkways, or lawns.
S MARK is a fluorescent marking spray.
Thanks to the fluorescent, mineral, and organic pigments, which do not contain heavy metals, markings made with S MARK are visible even in poor lighting conditions and can be seen from a greater distance. A complex mixture that is free of chlorinated solvents or aromatic components is used as the solvent. For night construction sites or construction work carried out in the cold season in dim light, a major advantage of S MARK is that, as a fluorescent marking spray, it is easily visible even in poor lighting conditions. S Mark is available in white, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, violet, and cherry red. S Mark construction site marking paint is available in yellow, black, red, and brown without fluorescent pigments. These colors are even more durable than the fluorescent colors.
Using S MARK safely and effectively
- Following the instructions below will ensure clean and low-maintenance use of S Mark marking spray. Proper use of the aerosol also increases the service life of the spray cans.
- Before marking, shake the can thoroughly with the spray head pointing downwards.
- The audible clinking of the mixing balls indicates that the marking paint is well mixed and ready for use.
- The safety cap is opened by turning it counterclockwise.
- S MARK is used with the spray head pointing downwards.
- Spray the surface to be marked from a distance of approx. 10–15 cm.
- After use, the nozzle must be cleaned, a process known as “purging.” To purge, spray until empty gas escapes, keeping the spray head pointing upwards.
- Once purging is complete, close the safety cap again by turning it clockwise.
Accessories for easier working with S MARK
The fluorescent marking spray S MARK can be sprayed on by hand without any additional accessories. More accurate and easier working is possible by inserting the spray can into a marking gun. This marking handle, which resembles a silicone press, allows you to work in a more upright and healthier posture. The 1-wheel marking stick is suitable for marking on the floor. The can can be attached to this marking stick at the correct distance from the floor to achieve the desired line width. The wheel of the marking stick is then pushed across the floor, allowing you to walk upright. The safety head of the spray can is activated by a trigger lever on the handle of the marking rod. This allows the paint to be controlled from a distance from the spray head and applied to the desired areas.
Our marking accessories help prevent postures that can lead to musculoskeletal disorders.
Properties of S MARK
- Fluorescent marking spray.
- Even on damp surfaces, S Mark has very good marking durability of up to 6 months. Durability depends on the marked surfaces, the external conditions during application, and UV radiation. There is also a non-fluorescent version of S Mark, which is even more durable.
- Can be used on almost all surfaces relevant to construction sites, such as gravel, sand, asphalt, minerals, grass, wood, or concrete.
- S Mark offers good adhesion and coverage even on damp surfaces.
- The drying time is approx. 10 minutes.
- S Mark can also be used reliably in cooler outdoor temperatures: the processing temperatures range from -15°C to 40°C.
- S Mark is equipped with the SOPPEC safety cap, which does not break when dropped from a height of 1.5 m.
- High yield: one S Mark spray can is sufficient for a line approx. 55 m long with a line width of 2 cm.

- The aerosol may cause drowsiness or dizziness (hazard statement H336).
How to find the right marking spray
Construction managers, foremen, engineers, or architects who want to apply markings on construction sites should ask themselves a few questions in advance in order to select the right spray. First, consider how long the markings need to last. Will work only be carried out during the day, or do the markings also need to be clearly visible at night? Should the markings be durable or quick and easy to remove without leaving any residue? How many different things need to be marked, and which and how many colors are needed for this? Once these questions have been answered, you can order suitable sprays with precisely tailored properties from Technima.
How long does the marking with construction site marking spray last on asphalt or concrete?
S Mark marking spray, which is designed for use on construction sites, is designed to last for approximately six months, depending on the surface and the conditions during application. S Mark adheres very well to asphalt and concrete, so it can be expected to last for six months or even longer. On surfaces such as wood, grass, or gravel, the durability depends on how these surfaces are used.
Is the spray weatherproof and visible even in rain or snow?
Markings made with S Mark marking spray are weatherproof and, thanks to their fluorescent pigments, easily visible even in rain. If the marking is covered by snow, it is no longer visible. However, when the snow melts, markings made with S Mark reappear intact from under the snow. The only exception to this is when applied to a gravel surface. If this is cleared with a snow plow or a snow blower and the pebbles are moved in the process, the marking will naturally be damaged.
How quickly does construction site marking spray dry and when can the marking be walked or driven on?
S Mark marking spray is quick-drying and can be walked or driven on after approx. 10 minutes. When applied to damp surfaces, the drying time may be slightly longer. We recommend testing the spray in a less visible area that is not important for marking before allowing people to walk or drive on a marked surface.
Is the marking spray UV-resistant and does the color remain visible even in strong sunlight?
S Mark marking paint is generally UV-resistant and the colors are clearly visible in sunlight. However, UV radiation does have an impact on the long-term durability of the markings. Permanent UV radiation shortens the durability of markings made with S Mark. Markings in locations with high UV exposure that are intended to remain in place for a long time must be checked regularly.
Can spray paint and marking paint be washed off?
S Mark spray paint is designed for long-term markings. It cannot therefore be simply washed off with water or soapy water. Suitable solvents or cleaning agents must be used to remove it. It is important to ensure that the agents used do not damage the surface on which S Mark was applied. Here too, we recommend testing on inconspicuous areas of the markings if the resistance of the surface is unknown.
